Samuel O'Malley Cluff, 1837-1910.

Mr. Darby corrected this brother. He taught that we are dead to nature. This goes too far. We are dead to the law. We ought to be dead to sin and the evil world. Family relationships and secular responsibilities belong to nature. One of the signs of the last days is "without natural affection".

Cluff's hymn in 'Spiritual Songs' is no. 388, "Nothing but Christ as on we tread". It is a beautiful hymn of total commitment to Christ.
